I Am Fighting Fear, Are You?

I have just had a reminder how fear stops us from doing things that we want to do.
Earlier this year, I joined the Blackwood Photographic Club. This has been a great  experience for me as I have met some lovely people, and learned more about  photography.
The Club recently announced that it was organizing an exhibition of members work and  wanted each member to submit an image.
I have just spent three anxious days deciding whether or not to prepare an image for the exhibition. I have had all sorts of excuses running around in my head as to why I should or should not exhibit my work. Today I bit the bullet and ordered an enlargement of this picture, ready for framing.
I have to say that, having left the Photographic Shop, I found myself in a state of fear and anxiety.
So what to do? I needed to find out what it was exactly that was putting me into a state of fear, so I asked myself some questions. Was it the cost of the exercise? Was it the thought of offering my image for sale? No. It was none of those reasons, they were just fur fees. The fear was that I was not a good enough photographer to exhibit in the Club Exhibition.
Having worked out what the fear was about, I was then able to release the fear and feel OK again.
How did I release the fear? I used the self help techniques that I teach my Clients.

So the moral of this story is:
Find out what it is that you really fear.Your mind will often create rubbish to mask out what it is that you are really anxious or fearful about. Having identified the fear, then work on releasing it. I can teach you how.
