Who we become – Our Unique Self

Our life experiences which make us who we are today are as variable as there are people on Earth.  No two people have experienced things the same, nor will they perceive the world exactly through the same eyes.  Although a family may have been instilled with the same philosophies and beliefs since birth, their personalities and personal experiences will still determine how the world is independently recognised and absorbed.  Even in a family from the same gene pool, the genetic makeup and selection still forms an independent soul with a complete set of mixed genes unique and special to each person.

The foundation of who we are today is influenced by the people who have input of any kind in our life, i.e. parents, caregivers, siblings, relatives, teachers, churches, sports teams, clubs, friends, employers, employees, work mates, and so on.  How we choose to interpret those experiences is unique to us.

Our families instilled the first core beliefs into us as we grew up.  We were taught the basics of courtesy, respect, beliefs, morals and ethics that prevailed within our family belief structures.  Some of us may look back and see these as positive life experiences.  For others, it may have caused undue hardship or distress.  Neither is right or wrong for who we are today.  It just is.

All these aspects and influences add to our view of the world, and are what have formed the person we are now and the person we are becoming.  They are what have formed our beliefs and expectations about others and the world around us, and how we choose to interact or react with them.   They also give us the ability to learn and listen, and begin to take ownership of wise choices, and move forward.

As an adult we now have choices of how we allow our past to manifest in our life today.  The unique part of us is our personality that has been shaped by our various experiences.  How we allow that to project into the world will determine how the world responds back, and through our experiences we can begin to mould a strong and cohesive foundation for ourselves of what we perceive as truth and grace.

Those we share our life with on Earth are part of our journey.  The learning we experience within ourselves is just as important as the learning we provide to, and receive from, others.  We are shaping their world just as much as they are shaping ours.

Understanding another person’s journey might not be ours to know.  Our thoughts, perceptions and perspectives in life are driven by an influence that is innate and uniquely ours.  We will not be all thinking, feeling and experiencing the same cognition equally at any given time, and may never fully understand another person’s bias or attitudes in life just as others may never fully comprehend the driving forces behind our actions.

Blocks in our lives offer us opportunities for learning and healing, and to clear more emotional traffic jams that are no longer serving us.  Some of these may be old patterns, deep within our subconscious, even genetic imprints from our ancestors, while others may be an accumulation of our reactions to earthly experiences in this life.  Neither is right or wrong.  It is just the way we are.  If you like, it is what we were designed to experience, and therefore move beyond.

Our lives on Earth are about moving forward with a more conscious awareness.  It is about healing the past to allow us to walk into the future, offering the world and humanity a stronger link of caring and concern for each other and the world we live in, bringing the energy of Earth to a higher level and frequency for all.

Our world is here for us, but we are also here for the world. All is united.  All is one. We are not separate ~ and all that we do is linked into the energy of the Universe creating and recreating our world. We all have choices.  Choose the good ones – in thought, word and deed.

The world we live in is a projection of the thoughts that prevail in our environment.  Think of the world you would like to be a part of and project those positive thoughts into the umbrella of our universe.

The difference between knowing where you have come from and where you want to go is in recognising that you have that choice.

In recognising that choice, it then gives you the ability and power to move forward with self-awareness, truth, respect and integrity for all.  He iwi kotahi tatou ~ We are all One.
